At O’pen Skiff India, the safety and well-being of every child is our highest priority.
We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all young sailors — on the water, on land, and during travel and camps.
We follow a zero-tolerance approach to any form of inappropriate behaviour, misconduct, or unsafe practices.
All children in our programs have the right to:
• Feel safe and respected at all times
• Train in a positive and encouraging environment
• Be heard and supported if they raise a concern
We have established a dedicated Safeguarding & Child Protection Committee (SCPC) to oversee child safety across all our programs.

In addition, we work with independent external experts, including child protection specialists, counsellors, and legal advisors, to ensure neutrality and best practices.
Clear Code of Conduct
All coaches, staff, and volunteers follow strict guidelines on:
• Appropriate behaviour and communication
• Physical interaction boundaries
• Supervision and safety protocols
Structured Supervision
• Children are always supervised during sessions
• No isolated one-on-one situations without visibility
• Safety boats and coaches maintain constant oversight on the water
Safe Training & Camp Environment
• Clear rules for accommodation and travel
• No unsupervised or inappropriate access to children
• Respect for privacy in changing and personal spaces
Trained & Accountable Staff
• All team members are briefed on safeguarding expectations
• Concerns are taken seriously and acted upon promptly
